The scholarship demonstrates our members’ dedication to the future of our township and is awarded to accomplished students who have completed their secondary education and are pursuing higher education. Exceptional students are identified for the award using criteria established by the Board of Directors of The Chadds Ford Community Association and the scholarship award may be used at the awardee’s discretion. The award is currently $1500.
The Chadds Ford Township Residents Association announces its 2026 Scholarship Award winner is Liam McKelvey Wenrich, a graduate of the Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School. He received a certificate and a $1500 award on May 7 at an event held at the Chadds Ford Township Pavilion.
At the Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School, Liam was a member of the National Honor Society. held leadership roles in the PALCS the Student Government Program and served as Vice President of their Mu Alpha Theta Leadership Council. In addition, Liam was Co-Captain of the Mock Trail and Moot Court teams. Liam had a cumulative GPA of 4.3.
Since 2020, Liam also participated in the United State Naval Sea Cadet Corp program, rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer, the highest rank in the program. He attended more than 60 advanced training programs—both domestic and international. In addition, he accumulated more than 100 awards and ribbons during his six-year tenure. His leadership roles include serving as Vice President and President of the Sea Cadet National Council and Committee Leader for the Cadet Advancement Curriculum Committee. Liam recently received the Wilson E. Reed Award as the 2026 Naval Sea Cadet of the Year at a ceremony at the US Naval Academy.
Liam has dedicated himself to community service throughout his high school years. In addition to his 300 hours of community service through the Sea Cadet program, he made substantial contributions to Chadds Ford Township through the CFTRA and numerous other Township organizations. He received special recognition for his service with a special CFTRA Volunteer of the Year award in 2025.
Liam has been accepted the United States Naval Academy’s Class of 2030.
The Chadds Ford Township Residents Association announces its 2025 Scholarship Award winner is Stella Tucker, a senior at Unionville High School. She received a certificate and a $1500 award on May 19 at an event held at the Chadds Ford Township Pavilion.
Stella was a particularly outstanding applicant and exceeded the Association’s criteria on all fronts. At Unionville, she excelled academically and was a member of both the National and Spanish Honor Societies. She was invited by the U.S. Naval Academy to participate in both their Summer STEM program and Summer Seminar. She held a 4.7 grade point average.
Her interest in STEM inspired her to create a local chapter of Girls Who Code at Unionville of which she was Co-President for 3 years. She was selected to represent Unionville High School at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference and was Editor and Chief of the Unionville High School Yearbook. She was a Girls on the Run coach for two years and created and taught a creative writing course at the Chadds Ford Elementary School.
In addition to her academic and volunteer achievements, Stella was also an outstanding member of the Girl Scouts, earning the Bronze, Silver and Gold Award (their highest level of recognition) for her 13 years of achievement. During this time, she was elected a Girl Scouts of Eastern PA delegate 3 consecutive years and a National Council Delegate. She recently received special recognition by Chadds Ford Township for her work with the Girl Scouts and for representing Chadds Ford in such an exemplary manner.
