New Name, Stronger Community

We are excited to announce the Chadds Ford Township Residents Association is now the Chadds Ford Community Association (CFCA).

The Chadds Ford Township Residents Association is changing its name—we are now the Chadds Ford Community Association (CFCA). This name change more clearly reflects who we serve and our community-focused mission. 

Founded in 1968, our organization has occasionally refreshed its name to more clearly represent its areas of focus. Years ago, we were the Chadds Ford Township Civic Association and in 2021 rebranded to the Chadds Ford Township Residents Association. Our 2026 renaming to the Chadds Ford Community Association was prompted by feedback from residents and businesses that our name did not adequately reflect our audiences and mandate. 

We hope our new name communicates several important messages:

  1. We serve not only Chadds Ford residents, but local businesses, non-profits and partners. 
  2. Anyone can support the CFCA regardless of where they live in the Chadds Ford area–they do not need to be a resident of Chadds Ford Township, Delaware County.  
  3. Everyone is invited to participate in our events, regardless of where they live.
  4. Our mission is community building—we steadfastly remain non-partisan and non-political. 

 

While we have a new name, our mission remains unchanged. Our annual Scholarship award will go to a Chadds Ford Township student, our Citizen of the Award to a Chadds Ford Township resident and Business of the Year to a Chadds Ford Township business. In addition, we will continue to partner with Chadds Ford Township municipal leaders for select events and programs. 

We are excited about this new chapter in the Association’s long history!

The Chadds Ford Community Association is a volunteer, non-profit, non-partisan organization whose mission is to create a strong sense of community within the township, support its residents and businesses, and help retain the area’s unique historical quality and rural character.  CFCA activities and programs are funded through memberships and donations.
